COVID-19

Disabled people are one of the groups that the coronavirus pandemic has hit the hardest. Inclusivity should be at forefront of our economic and social recovery.

Education

Our largely segregated education system disadvantages disabled people. We must work closely with schools and universities to close the education gap.

Employment

Disabled people have much lower rates of employment than the general UK population. To rectify this we need to work closely with employers to help them hire and support people with disabilities.

Poverty

Disabled people and disabled families in the UK have higher levels of poverty than the general population. We need to put pressure on the government to make the benefit system more inclusive.

Sex and Relationships

Sex and relationship education for disabled people is often lacking in depth and individual personalisation. We need to fix this to support disabled people in forming meaningful relationships.

How Disabled People are Viewed

Societies views and perceptions about disability are improving, but still have a long way to go. We must work closely with schools and the general public to promote inclusive attitudes.
