Why not read the ONS’s latest dataset on the educational outcomes of disabled people!

This dataset, released in February 2021, tracks the education of disabled people against non-disabled people.

Although an increasing proportion of disabled people are getting further education, there still exists an education gap at most levels. Whilst 5.4% of non-disabled people have no qualification, this increases to 15.1% for disabled people. And whilst 39.7% of non-disabled people have a degree, only 23.0% of disabled people do.

This also takes in national and regional variation in the UK, gender, and type of disability. Understanding these differences helps support work to make education more inclusive and flexible for disabled people. The educational gap is then linked to the employment gap between disabled and non-disabled people.
